Nigeria on Thursday recorded a new highest daily figure of confirmed COVID-19 cases as 681 new infections were announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
With the latest update, the number of infected persons in the country now stands at 14, 554 from 13, 873 reported on Wednesday evening.
The health agency also announced that five persons died from the virus on Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths to 387.
NCDC in a tweet late Thursday disclosed that the 681 new cases were reported in 17 states.
According to the agency, Lagos state recorded the highest cases with 345 new infections, followed by Rivers state with 51 new cases. Other are:
So far, 14,554 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the country. While 4,494 persons have been discharged, a total of 387 deaths have been reported from the virus.
