Our client is a reputable oil and gas company with branches across Africa .

Job Responsibilities


Implementation of Company Security Management System: Develop and review company Security Plan in line with corporate objectives, vision and mission, ensuring compliance of all Company Management Systems including HES, Operations Policies;  develop and lead to implement  country specific security plans; establish protocols that ensure all host government laws and associated security operational principles are adopted and observed in all company locations

Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct quarterly, yearly and bi annual security risk assessment of all areas of company operations; implement and manage all mitigations associated with the risks within the business environment and provide guidance to management and staff and clients Emergency Response Team on all security matters.

Security Administration: Develop and implement security policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for contract security personnel, and government law enforcement; develop necessary protocols for compliance with voluntary principles for Human Rights and corporate policies on conflict of interest, Federal Corrupt Practices Act and all similar policies

Intelligence Gathering and investigations: Develop, process and share information regarding criminal activity where client operates; develop strategic and tactical plans to protect people and other company assets from any threats associated with these groups; conduct risk assessment for company hotels, offices etc.; liaise with senior law enforcement officials, the military and other government officials and security representatives from other firms; conduct special investigations as may be required for client  management; work closely with the HES Specialists to support investigation of safety and environmental incidents

Security Management: Manage the deployment of contract security guard companies to company sites as needed; manage the deployment of the Government Security Forces to assist with company operations where required; implement the Journey Management Policy of the company and ensure compliance with escort, hotel and associated road travel

Finance and Human Resource Planning & Management: For full security budget and staff across 4 countries


Qualifications

Minimum of a 1st degree, a Masters degree would be an advantage

Industry certification in Security Management would be an advantage

At least 15 years experience as a security guard, police officer or military police officer

Minimum 10 years of work in a security environment at managerial level is required

Prior training and experience working with electronic monitoring systems is required

Understanding of HES processes will be an added advantage

Experience working across West Africa will be a plus

Knowledge of local operating environment,

Knowledge of local law and legislation.

Excellent networking skills with security organizations especially at the top hierarchy.

Excellent communication skills

Excellent skills in Microsoft  applications

Ability to maintain professional relationships with government and security forces

Comfortable with dealing with all levels of management and people with different multinational and cultural backgrounds

Skilled influencer

Decisive thinker

Coordinate and track multiple activities and work under sustained pressure

Ability to plan own work with no supervision

Ability to prioritize conflicting activities and allocate resources

Skills in intelligence reporting
