Job Description

  • ·            Develop, localize, and implement Tax Control Framework policies.
  • ·            Dynamic identification of national tax regulation changes within Country, and translation of impact of changes, actions, and opportunities arising.
  • · Steer and advise the Company by identifying opportunities to optimize tax contribution, and provide relevant analysis to support decision making.
  • · Represent company in dialogue with external tax parties, and lead any negotiations and responses on behalf of the company.
  • · Lead or participate and support in national lobby activities to influence selective tax legislative processes.
    Select/consult legal 3rd parties as required.
  • · Own full accountability for Company tax compliance; including holding accurate tax data records, representing a true and fair view of the company’s tax position, accurate and timely filing of tax declarations, and proactive identification of changes in legislation and implementation thereof.
  • ·Prepare an annual plan and budget for the company Tax department.
  • ·Build and maintain internal and external networks to stimulate collaboration.
  • ·Support IT technology and tools projects.
  • · Coach colleagues both within and outside of the department on tax matters.
  • · Manage employees including recruitment, performance management and career development.
  • · Drive own personal development in management, finance competencies and business knowledge by implementing his/her development plan.

Responsibilities

Requirements

·First degree in finance, economics or accounting
·Strong knowledge of local/international tax legislations and best practice policies·       
 
Five years of progressive work experience, preferably in the Pharmaceutical/FMCG sector
· Membership of recognized professional institutes
