Job Description

 Job Objective/ Purpose of Job: Responsible for effective and efficient management/control of hospital’s drugs, medical consumables, stationery and other store items. 

Job Duties/ Responsibilities/ Accountabilities 

• Provision of stock to various departments in an efficient and timely manner 
• Generate orders for drugs, medical consumables, stationeries and other store items and write local purchase order 
• Monitor and ensure adequate stock levels for all store items 
• Responsible for setting of Re-order levels on the items on the Drug Formulary, medical consumables, stationeries, and all other stock items 
• Management of the stores receipt and dispensing mechanisms and ensuring it complies with the financial and procurement guidelines on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. 
• Providing the monthly Utilization Data after stock count within 4 days of close 
• Implement new bar coding system project across the locations 
• Work with Pharmacy, theatre and Nurses teams on the emergency inventory dispensing process, and implement the agreed procedures 
• Compliance with company’s operating procedures and policies 
• Participate at the Hospital’s quality improvement activities. 
• Build supplier relations with the procurement Department 
Key Performance Indicators/ Performance Goals: 
• Reduction on the inventory stock levels to 8 days from current 14 days 
• Minimize the occurrence of stock outs to zero 
• Adequate and timely orders 
• Successful implementation of a Inventory Receipt and Disbursement process in stores 
• Monthly utilization Report received within 4 days after the month end

Education Qualification: University degree or Higher Diploma in Accountancy or other numeric disciplines 
Professional Qualification: Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply 
Experience: 
 (Dimension and No of years) 2 years post NYSC experience is desirable 
Others: Store / Inventory experience is mandatory 

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:  
Functional/ Technical:
• Computer literacy, ability to work with Microsoft Windows packages with average skills in MS Excel usage  
Behavioural:  
• I CARE attributes and pleasant disposition 
• Interpersonal and communication Skills 
• Service oriented, courteous, team player
